Honoring a legacy of leadership, education, and healthcare
John Matthew Upledger — "JM" (1960–2017), the son of Dr. Upledger — had a personal vision to carry on the legacy and work of the Foundation.
JM was a true entrepreneur and successful businessman. He started his lifelong career in the Upledger mail room in 1986, was recognized for his natural leadership skills early on, and quickly moved up through the ranks. While still very young, he was promoted to CEO of Upledger Institute International's worldwide continuing education and manual therapy training programs, product lines, Foundation, and Clinic.
A graduate of Haslett High School (Haslett, Michigan) and a Michigan State University alumnus, John Matthew Upledger had a personal vision and passion for education and the field of healthcare. To honor and memorialize his visionary spirit, scholarships are awarded annually to graduating seniors from Haslett High School going on to Michigan State University.
Student applications have been accepted since Fall 2021.
